I caught up with Gabriel Torok, President of PreEmptive Software (you all know DotFuscator, right? That's PreEmptive's baby...) at TechEd 2007 (Yeah, this is coming to you late, but the video was shot by pros and pros take time to deliver pro stuff. I think it turned out great! Thanks, pros!)

Here we talk about how PreEmptive's IL refactoring and anlaytics technology works.

Enjoy.

Pros like 16:9 videos squished into 4:3 format? Wink
If Gabriel's watching this:

I'm writing a large-scale application I want to commercialise and distribute, I reckon it'll be pretty popular. But there are already many ways to examine the program logic even when it is partially obfuscated with the (let's face it) crippled version which comes with Visual Studio. So I was thinking of just releasing it as F/OSS, at least that way I can also garner grassroots support for it.

Can you persuede me otherwise?

So can we squish real life into a 4:3 format! Then maybee my wife will stop nagging me to go to the gym and loose some pounds. Big Smile

would be a great tool considering the amount of copying that goes on. Although some people would have concerns if a program they use is sending information back to the vendor Perplexed
