Windows 7 name decide portugal???
Link
eeeeuw wtf, it's even worst than Vista. ( I hate "Vista" name )... Where do they get these horrible names from. Perplexed
Windows 7 - and the message is: we didn't focus on the name, we focused on the features.
Whew! For a minute there I thought you meant they were going to call it Windows Portugal. Not that there's anything wrong with Portugal: the Country.

A translation of the blog post:

"It liked to give its suggestion for the final name of Windows 7? This was a challenge that in them was considered by an element of our Communities Techniques, João Peter Mercy, and that it entusiasmou in them to support. It is at least a curious challenge, made use well, and until inspirer: it stimulates the Participants to give suggestions for the final name of Windows 7! How much to top 3 winners, Microsoft Portugal proactively wants to submit these names to product group of the WCT as plus one contributo of Portugal in this product. Debtor, João Peter! I wait that it obtains many Participants and the final name of Windows 7"

Ok,.. How about; Windows Gates,.. as an ode to Bill?

was the same thing that I thought

Windows GS   aka Windows Gates
It's my idea now!

If you use it, it will cost you $100.000,-. You can pay via creditcard or paypal,..

Thank you for using Maddus's name service!
no no   no

it's my idea ,

Wink pay me my think!!!!

My Portugese is kind of rusty... what's the article about? There's a contest in Portugal about deciding the name of Windows 7?

Yeah, and it's such a clear translation, too...
They won't call it Windows 7....  I remember when MS change word from version 2.x to 6 so it was in line with WordPerfect.......  How will it look OS X and Win 7, it already looks 3 versions behind.

I like Windows 7 myself.... it's simple.
Hi all,

I'm portuguese so I think I can help with the translation:

Would you like to give your suggestion to the final name of Windows 7?

This was a challange that was proposed to us by an element from our technical communities, João Pedro Piedade, and that we're thrilled to support. At the very least, it's a curious, good mood and even inspirational challange: incentivate the participants to give suggestions for the final name of Windows 7! As for the 3 winners, Microsoft Portugal wants to proactivelly submit this names to the product group of WCT as one more contribute from Portugal in this product.

Thanks João Pedro! We hope you get many participants and the final name of Windows 7

It's just a contest in where people submit their opinions as to what they think the final name for Windows 7 should be.

To my understanding the only thing that's going to happen with this suggestions is that the top 3 are going to be submited to the product group as SUGGESTIONS. There's no guarantee that any of them will end up as the final name for Windows 7. In fact I'd say there's little chance that it happens as this names might not take into account cultural differences, copyright issues and others.

Hope it helps,

and then maybe

Windows OMFG -  I like that one, but since bill is gone, you might wanna consider ditching the "Windows" part alltogether. especially when it has become necessary to add "vista" to something that is traditionally transparent.

or maybe:

Windows - We don't even look at the stars anymore.
