Hey guys - I know this is shameless promoting, but I just put up my blog site and would love you guys to check it out. I figure this is a good way to attract other developers. Would love some of your opinions as my project goes on.

If you're going to have a picture, I'd try to find one of better quality (I'm specifically referring to the lighting:  camera flash in a dark room doesn't look very good).  I hear outdoors is always nice.

Some better, but blurry--  I'd still try outdoors.

I'm not a developer at all (I find it tedious) however a good blog should be simple to use and look at. I'd say get rid of the massive picture - it does nothing but distracts from the content. I can't offer an opinion on what you've written because I'd find my head on my keyboard doing that but keep it interesting and you'll get people who read it, just get rid of those distracting elements in the blog.

Overall, I like it. Cool you finally start blogging.

Things I'd recommend to rework, though:

• The flame in the top right is a bit blurry.
• The image of YOU is blurry, too (maybe this is As Designed...)
• The contact link says "Contact US", so who else can we contact? May be you wanna change it into "Contact Me" to make it more personal. May be not.
• In the footer there is still a little dot (artifact from ripping the themes copyright text?). Get rid of it or put the entire line back there.

Like your sites colours and feel however, I did find your email embedded in the source of the site. Im not sure if this is a good idea these days. Cant be certain though.

Awesome job! Just something I noticed.

The site is quite ok. You should do something with the images, sharper and a little bit nicer. And then you only need it to fill it with content

I've had some more time to read it now, and it's actually not bad and readable for non-developers. However, I definitely think you're overdoing the 'girl power' thing. The redeeming feature of your blog should be an interesting development log or thoughts on development, not the fact that your reproductive system is on the inside. I get a strong sense of "treat me the same, I'm a woman" which of course I agree with, and then "Read this, I'm a woman". In my opinion the gender issue ought to be played down much more, don't keep it a secret but focus on the content attracting readers, not getting horny nerds to read it.

post section, you shouldn't repeat what's already pretty clear, I'm talking about "Continue reading "%CurrentPostName%" " it should be just a simple link like: "Continue reading..." it's clear what you want to continue to read, also I don't like the comments like, I'll do something like:





where is footer, maybe at least some tiny message? ok if don't have one you should do something like this:



and set a tiny border at bottom to mark that page end...

main menu, it should be with some little pixels on top. and it will look better, also I'll make RSS feed icon a little bigger or better remove it at all, anyone can take a look in the head and find the RSS feed, humans or tools...



left section, your image is not centered at all, it doesn't look right, you should make it smaller and center it into the "section", I also think you should remove "STUMP HER!" and "ALSO, CHECK HER AT" sections and put that info on cantact me page, and instead of those sections put better content, I dont know exactly what at the moment



frankly I don't like how left section looks, need to think...
